‘Americana’ – Sunday 27th February

‘Americana’ – Singer/Songwriters of the 1970s & ‘80s

The foundation of ‘AMERICANA’ (singer/songwriters of the USA) was created due to a nostalgic look back in time to the live music scene in Sydney during the 1970s and early ‘80s.

Steve Hogan, lead singer of ‘Van the Man’ (The Australian Van Morrison Show), combines yet again with these talented musicians to take you on a journey through little known facts and fantasies of such iconic songs and songwriters as James Taylor’s “Fire & Rain”, Paul Simon’s “50 ways to Leave your Lover” and you will be surprised when you hear the real meaning behind Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young’s “Love the One You’re With”. This was the music we all sang as punters or players in our favourite watering holes, be they wine bars, pubs or parties in the 1970s and ‘80s.

‘AMERICANA’ moves seamlessly from the soulful ballads of artists like Bill Wither’s “Ain’t No Sunshine”, Jackson Browne and Neil Young to the hard driving country rock of Crosby, Stills, Nash, America, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Jimmy Buffet, to name a few.

‘AMERICANA’ will have you singing and dancing to the vinyl history of your life!

Performing Sunday 27th February from 2pm – 5.30pm
